The Kangaroo Picnic Place Near Navya's House · 31 October 2026
An invitation
With hearts full and families beside us, we'd love nothing more than to have you
with us on the grass — for a weekend of colour, ceremony, and at least eleven kangaroos
who were not invited but will absolutely attend.

Our story
What started as a simple connection became something neither of us could imagine
living without. Countless laughs, a few thousand chai, and one extremely memorable
picnic later — here we are. Back where it all happened.

The celebrations
Order of events
10 am – 2 pm
Haldi
A golden, sun-soaked afternoon of turmeric, laughter and old traditions — on picnic rugs, in the open air. Wear something you don't mind getting gloriously yellow. The kangaroos will keep a respectful distance. Probably.
6 pm – 11 pm
Sangeet
As the sun sets over the picnic place, the music starts — performances, dancing and vibrant Punjabi celebration on the grass. The dance floor is wherever you're standing.
9 am – 12 pm
The ceremony
We say our vows on the grass, surrounded by everyone we love most — and several roos who think they're family now. Arrive early to claim shade; the gum tree seats are premium.
6 pm – late
Reception
Dinner under actual stars, speeches we'll pretend not to cry at, and dancing until the council noise curfew — or the magpies complain, whichever comes first.

Getting there
The practical bits
📍
Finding it
You know the kangaroo picnic place near Navya's house. Yes, that one. If you've reached the second roundabout, you've gone too far.
🦘
Local traffic
Kangaroos have right of way at all times. They were here first and they know it. Please do not challenge them to a boxing match — they always win.
🧺
What to bring
A picnic rug, sunscreen, and your dancing shoes (grass-rated). Eskies provided. Snags will not survive unattended — see Local traffic, above.
Gifts
🎁
Your presence is the present. No boxed gifts or vouchers, please — there will be a wishing well at our events. (The wishing well is an esky. The esky is also the bar. It's a very efficient system.)
Questions
Good to know
Day 1 is colourful and festive — bright Indian or smart summer wear. Day 2 is "formal, but the venue is grass," so heels are a personal journey we'll support from a distance. Always: comfortable shoes for dancing.
It's the kangaroo picnic place. There will be kangaroos. They are guests, not catering. Please don't feed them samosas — last time one followed Navya home and the situation is still ongoing.
Your invitation covers the people named on it. If you're unsure, just message us — we'd rather you ask! Kangaroos do not count toward your party size.
Absolutely not. This is a marathon and a sprint. Hydrate, nap strategically on the rug between events, and bring your full energy to every single one.
It's near Navya's house. We relocate to Navya's house. Her mum has already catered for this outcome, emotionally and literally.
